While we could use an FRS, a few of us are ham ops. We floated the idea because 
we thought it'd be fun and a bit geeky.. and a cool use for ham radio.

But if it comes down to it, we may end up going the FRS route. We need small 
radios that are separate from both the wifi and the cellular networks.
