Jumping back in the thread a bit I've got my $0.02 to toss in.

I'd like to attend a session on HAM radio and Linux. (I'm taking my Technician Class exam Monday)

Several of the members of the local group are already using Linux and at one meetings there was a demo of using a Raspberry PI to run fldigi. Even included a 5" screen so the whole thing could run off 12 volt.

Talking to several members I discovered there are methods to get to remote locations (out of your power and skip range) using an Internet link. So a HAM session or at least a HAM table would be great.

We could agree on a 2m regency for the show. Not sure if there are
repeaters in the area. Been meaning to break out my handy-talkie for a
while now.
