Um... this argument ignores one of the fundmental, canonical
rationalizations for the seal: to protect the Hyuuga bloodline from
theft.
The traditional rules governing 'houses' do not take into account the
necessities of the setting. From the traditional standpoint, if
Hintata (or any female Hyuuga) chose to marry outside the Hyuuga clan,
she would not become a member of a Hyuuga 'branch house,' and would
not gain the seal; the bloodline could potentially be stolen by
another house- unless Hyuuga women are never allowed to have children,
unless they marry back into the clan.
Likewise, if Hinata chose to remain an active duty ninja, her unsealed
eyes would constantly imperil the Hyuuga bloodline. From what we see
in canon, it would appear only 'branch house' members normally serve
as active-duty ninja, with Hinata being a glaring exception. This
would be logical, since only 'branch house' members are protected with
regard to bloodline theft.
Thus, if Hinata wanted to remain an active-duty ninja, would that mean
that she would have to somehow join a branch house, simply to obtain
the seal? One simple conceit would clear this up: allowing female
members of the clan to be heads of their own 'houses.' Otherwise, you
have a situation where any girl born into the 'main house' must marry
or be adopted into a 'branch house.'
