Paolo Ceroni <[email protected]> added the comment: With reference to Cehoyos latest communication (msg5770 - 28.05.2009) we would like to make several comments. Handling this issue has been time-consuming and long drawn out both for you as well as for us. This has been caused by your requests and the consequent adjustments we have made to meet them and bring our position to conformity. Your accusation that we change our products in order to circumvent the rules laid down by the GPL is offensive as well as totally groundless. In all this period of time we have made the modifications you have requested and if we have put other products on the market, we have done so on the basis of our sales development plan. Moreover these products are identical in all their essential features to the previous ones. In each one of them we have maintained and published the clarifications you requested. All along we have done our utmost to bring our position to conformity since we have no intention of violating any rules. The long file of correspondence between you and us is the proof. We have been let of the “hall of shame” only to be put back in again because in your opinion we were insufficiently correct. We have the distinct impression that just as we are on the point of reaching a positive conclusion, you then go on to find yet another obstacle to put on our way. At this point, we no longer believe you want to take our efforts in to serious consideration. Whatever modification or reply we give you to meet your observations will be followed by a further request and yet another point preventing us from ever reaching a solution to the issue. We would like to think we are wrong in this assumption and if this were not the case, please tell us clearly that you will never give us your approval on principle. We would then accept your decision, even if we would not consider it ethically correct.
Thanking you, Kandalu Software ____________________________________________________ FFmpeg issue tracker <[email protected]> <https://roundup.ffmpeg.org/roundup/ffmpeg/issue455> ____________________________________________________
