Can you keep the water that hot throughout the soak?  If it's cooling
down at all, you may have grease redepositing on the fiber.  And I
personally find I get better results on merino and other fine wools with
160 F water.  Anything cooler and it just doesn't get all the grease
out, though it's not always immediately noticeable.
