I'm still hoping to hear about sources for the knit military accessory patterns that the Red Cross used to hand out to knitters, particularly for WWI. I suppose I could make one up, from the pictures in the Social History of American Handknitting, or whatever that book is called, but would rather play it safe this first time, since I've not done any sort of helmet before.
