We have polkberries here which I haven't had time to pick. Now they've been hit by frost and the berry color has turned dark. Is it too late to dye with them or does this just change the color to another version of brown? I have to add that when I started dyeing, it was with chemical dyes. I decided I would not bother with natural dyeing. It sounded like too much work. Well, I took a workshop that my guild sponsored on mushroom dyeing and I'm hooked. I found a book on natural dyeing titled " Wild Color" by Jenny Dean that I find inspiring. If you haven't seen it you might like it too.
