Hello Everyone,
it's been awhile since I last wrote. Anyway on Thursday I was away for the
day at a Spinners & Weavers Exhibition at Cambridge when I got home there
was a message from someone who was in Auckland & who at the last minute had
heard she could attend the above workshop but had none of the yarn required
and could she get it from SETS. I thought yes she could but she wouldn't be
able to wind down the requirements in time so I would wind down some of my
stash for her........at the same time I wondered in the spur of the moment
was there room for me to attend. So rang the convenor and learnt there was
a cancellation!
So yesterday afternoon I turned up to the venue with mine and Di's yarns
and had a lovely afternoon with 19 others making colourful
yarns/sliver/fleece & fabric swatches. They are now all drying in the
bathroom as it's raining cats and dogs here today along with a hail storm
thrown in for good measure. And I have a variety of colourways because I
just sloshed on this, that & the other!
All very easy if you have a dedicated microwave [the Guild has one for us
to use], easy to use dyes [Landscape brand], easy peasy instructions as
well. Probably not done scientifically but just as fun as you never know
what you will get.
