Hello All, I would like some advice for learning to spin cotton. Until last weekend I'd never spun cotton, only wool. A friend of mine, a knitter but not a spinner, wants me to spin recycled cotton for her to knit. I briefly tried on my Ashford Joy. After a while I finally got the stuff to hold together but it was hard on my hands(my R hand hurt afterwards; I've got something going on with my hand but spinning wool doesn't bother it). So, is there a way to spin cotton that I don't have to hold on so tight? Or is it just the learning curve and I'll relax? What wheel setting is best? etc. Thanks!
