And just who was that masked poster? I bet Ron lives closer to the
North Pole than most of us :)

I keep meaning and forgetting to ask for help on a project, which is
also a Christmas present for my daughter.

5 years ago I made her a knit doll from a kit, and "Sally" was a big
hit. I kept saying I would make one from handspun, and finally decided
to do so. Of course, I'm changing most of the pattern :) The body is a
light sport weight white Shetland from our flock. I'm going to make
removable clothes, too--as time allows.

My daughter didn't want the hair done as in the kit--there's a hat sewn
on to a bald head, and 'fringe' is added for hair. Instead, she wanted
the hair to be all over the head.

Any dollmakers out there who can tell me an easy way to sew yarn on a
head for hair? I'm going to comb some wool to spin, and give it lots of
twist so it can stand up to being sewn through the head and then handled
a lot.

I've got the doll's body done, and am working on one arm. I kept
modifying the pattern more and more as I went up the body, now I wish I
could go back and redo the legs, but that would be more hassle than it's
worth, so I'll just make a note for next time :)
