You know, I think after a number of years, these magazines do tend to repeat
themselves only because 'we've been there and done that'. I'm fully
convinced that is why there are guilds that we can join and really get
motivated once again when we see what other people have come up with.

I don't believe there is anything new out there for the art of tatting -
there is just so much anyone can do with a thread and a shuttle so I've kind
of gotten away from that but I darned well know there's an awful lot to
learn in spinning, weaving and sewing that I will never even begin to get to
in my lifetime. However, it's not always all in the magazines - it's in
people's heads and the trick is in finding those people and giving them the
opportunity to share their expertise.

Also - don't you think that e-mail is drawing like-minded people together
and we're learning so much more because of that? I've given the magazines a
rest for a number of years now and still enjoy going into my back issues to
read what I've forgotten already. But, to tell you the truth - I'm having a
ball just listening to what all of you have to say and learning from you.

Thank you - Carolyn from near Chicago
