I have been going through agonies regarding Spin-Off and Handwoven, but have renewed for 2 years. I am now wishing I had not. First, the last issues of each were at least one month late, although Spin-Off has extended my subscription. No satisfaaction from Handwoven. I finally got that issue (Jan/Feb) last week and the articles and offerings have definitely been dummied down. It is either too much multi-shaft or too easy and uninspiring simple articles. Also, I did not like the focus on the new fancy yarns. I would prefer nice articles made from easily obtainable cottons and wools. The last Spin-Off does not seem to be too inspiring either and once again, my objection is with the focus on the super expensive fibre. I do sound like a grump, but the magazines are expensive, should arrive on time and should have something we can get our teeth into.
