Oh wow oh wow oh wow!!!! I have a way to buy a NEW LOOOOOMMMMMM!!!! (can you tell I'm super excited? <VBG>)

But now I need to know what kind! The vendor sells Schacht, Ashford,
Louet, Norwood, and LeClerc. I know NOTHING about any of them. So I'm hoping Fibernetters will help me out :)

What I want:

8 shafts
10 or more treadles
easy tie up (hard to get down on the floor anymore)
*reliable* tie up (I don't want to be getting down there every inch to reconnect things!)
removable breast beam
removable beater
beater that accepts different sizes of reeds
weaving width of 36-45 inches
high castle

I don't particularly care whether it's jack or countermarche, but I guess I'm not keen on counterbalance, since it's hard to treadle unbalanced weaves I hear. (Hope I got the two 'counters' right, I can never seem to remember which is which :)

Doesn't need to be fancy wood, or capable of weaving rugs. Less expensive is better than expensive, provided the loom is good for the long haul.

If there's an option to switch from a regular warp beam to a sectional, I'd be interested in that.

Am I missing anything? It's been a LONG time since I have seriously looked at looms!

dancing a very happy dance :)
