Dawn washing liquid ain't available here either I use Sunlight
washing liquid for a lot of fibre/fiber/thread stuff. Lots of people
here swear by various brands of washing stuff from Drive which is a
powder through to all the different washing up liquids like Real
Simple, Palmolive and so on.
So basically the idea would be to try whatever is on the supermarket
shelves until you find the one you like best. Also many here use the
Lux flakes/eucalyptus/meths combination and I've often used soap jelly.
