Orvus (I seem to have misspelled it, in my other messages). It's made by the 
same company that makes Dawn. When you buy Dawn, you're also paying for the 
water in the bottle. If you use Orvus, you use small amounts. It's a paste, not 
a liquid. Although, it does soften up in heat. It gets about consistency of 
yogurt.

I've also used All Free, and Sun Free laundry detergents, with great results.

As always, your mileage may vary. Remember that different areas have different 
chemicals in the water, which can affect the way the fiber washes up.

PS Read Gail's messages about washing fleeces. She's been doing this for years. 
Her experience, at least for me, carries a lot of weight when she gives advice.
