I have a (mostly) Wensleydale ram fleece that I've washed and dyed,
and is too greasy to use. It's recently shorn, and had a lot of
black, sort of oily muck on it. I have used Synthrapol, dish
detergent, boiling water, and ammonia in the rinse water (which did
some weird things to the Procion dyes). Has anyone seen this, or
have suggestions for removing what seems to be permanent oil/grease?
Thanks -
Nora
