I'm planning a project that needs 4 colors - will be wool. I have madder,
Osage orange and logwood dye packets. Now I need a brown. Any suggestions
will be most appreciated. It would be lovely if I could gather something
wild around here in Northern NH USA, but don't really think there's anything
available that will give me a brown. Is it about time for walnut hulls to
be ready and if so does anyone have a contact to purchase some? TIA Anita
Here in MI the nuts are just falling. Since the hulls are generally dried
before using (and weigh a lot less than the 'fresh' ones) that's the way
most prefer to have them shipped. How big of a hurry are you in, and how
much wool will you need to dye for the brown?
