The manual dobby is an excellent loom, but do keep in mind that each pattern
shot needs a dobby bar to be pegged. (There are ways to insert tabby
without
taking a dobby bar for each one). This makes it somewhat more time
consuming
and prone to small pegging errors than the computerized dobby heads...
More time-consuming indeed, but for someone as adventurous as Holly
seems to be, I'm sure it'll be an opportunity to really see how it all
works.
