Would someone please tell me that they're as bored with looking at the skeins that readers send in, as I am? Once was interesting. Twice was ok. The third time was <yawn> boring.

I also had a real problem with the skeins but I did glean some ideas from it in that people are still spinning. =-O I haven't looked at Spin-Off in awhiles mainly because I have been playing around with my own stash and creating minor skeins that are more what-if stuff.

I belong to a "mailorder" group here in NZ for Advanced spinners where most mailouts we are sent a few samples with how/what/why it was made. And a couple of letters ago we were sent approx 25grms of hemp to play with. I have now played with mine and did a combination of cotton, hemp, wool & recycled sari thread on my handcards in the colours I desired and then plied it with some wool that was either dyed bright orange, salmon or white and the small but reasonably useable skein is going to become a lunch sack at some point. I have to send some of the skein down the the leader of the group and they will be displayed at the Taranaki CF festival in April 07

http://picasaweb.google.com/cedar51/HANDSPUNYARN - this should take you direct to some handspun of recent months. if you put your cursor over the pictures more info appears.

Actually I've been doing a lot of spinning recently as it's easy to just create something as such. I have a couple of long term projects that require a lot of handspun but there are no deadlines because of the University adventure which technically begun online at 8am this morning but classes realtime don't start until this Thursday.

also at this site I have pictures of some items I bought for myself as a nice gift for Xmas - not handwoven in the truest sense but still very nice items. Look for Xmas 06 album. I have only just started with picasa because I don't seem to understand at all now Yahoos' new system so still learning how to use this.
