Ivermectin is completely safe...

I beg to differ. Ivermectin can cause neurological deficits, if administered
incorrectly--too often, or incorrect dose.

Absolutely!

I use Ivermectin occasionally for our livwestock, and find it useful stuff - but my DH inadvertantly overdosed our newly acquired collie - and made him pretty darn sick (d#$% near killed him, in fact)! He didn't believe me when I told him some strains of collies have a genetic intolerance for the stuff (it's the 'active' ingredient in most heartworm medications), but found out I was right. Luckily the dog survived, but it wasn't pretty.

Like all meds - it should be used with caution. Given correctly tho, it keeps the dogs from getting heartworm, which isn't pretty either.
