No, I only treat the rabbits when the mites show up, which isn't often, but
I'd still like to get away from the Ivermect.

DE is diatomaceous earth, a powder made of the desiccated shells of diatoms.
It is to be dusted on like a flea powder. It is supposedly good for killing
pests and parasites, by cutting their bodies and causing them to suffocate or
dry out. I have used it with success in the past with fleas, and other
things such as slugs, but I don't like how it dries the skin, and leaves the
coats gritty feeling (on my cats). I thought I would try it with the rabbits,
see if it was worth the hassle.

Listerine is to be misted into the coat, worked to the skin, and allowed to
dry. A few concerns 1) matting the coats -which isn't as likely on my
Germans, but possible on my English, 2)stinging or irritating the skin, and
3)getting into the eyes are a few that I can think of. It is alcohol based,
so am not sure what that will do. Certainly not organic, but possibly an
alternative to the nasty drug. <shrug>

My problem is, I don't like making my buns lab rats. All my rabbits are
pretty important to me, so it is a tough choice to make.
