If you are using this as an additive to your wool-soaking-bath, you
could also be using Soda Ash ... it is 10 times stronger, so you
would use much smaller quantities. It is VERY basic, as in something
is either acidic, neutral, or basic in pH. Wool does well in acid,
but will disintegrate over time in a basic solution. However, it
really cuts the lanolin/grease. (soaking time of 20 minutes or less)
Soda Ash is used to alter the pH in swimming pools, so the pool
supply stores for swimming pools carry it. I have bought 50 pound
bags of it for very little cost.
