Lynn, my experience is the same as yours, but a Dorset fleece will probably do better in carding mills than most, provided, of course, that it's not matted or full of VM. Being somewhat short and crisp seems to be about the best type of wool for cottage carding mills. Fine and short can breat, long and fine or coarse can break.
