This is a mis-translation of Las Hilanderas, which
means (unsurprisingly) The Spinners. It is an error
which has irritated me for years, although since it's
also known as The Fable of Arachne it is not totally
pervasive. but it doesn"t help when so many people
already think I weave yarn on my looms (= spinning wheels).
