  Use 30 weight automobile oil.

  You put a drop or two everywhere something moves. Wipe off the rod the 
  bobbin turns on and re-oil. Also wipe off and re-oil the outer ends of 
  the flyer assembly.

  Oil the flyer assembly every time you sit down to spin. Oil treadle, 
  cranks, etc as needed.
