When you copy from one location to another, the program is effectively
"click-assigning" the lyrics, using one set of the words and remembering
where in the score each individual word has been assigned.
Editing lyrics in one location changes the single occurance of the word
in the lyrics-memory so that all occurances of that word get changed.
I have found that it is easiest (at least to my convoluted mind) to
simply enter as many occurances of the word as I want in the score. So
that if I am entering 4 separate lines of text with most words identical
but some changes, I enter ALL the words 4 times in the Edit Lyrics box
and then I use click assign to place the different occurances of a
single word. That way I can change a single word for whatever reason
(e.g. if my first inspiration is to have all the parts sing all the
words and then later on I decide to change the alto part so that the
final three words are simply sung as oo_______ ) and not affect any
other location in the score (I even enter the words multiple times when
they are repeated within the same part.)
I know it may seem to be more work initially, but when I edit things
later on my life is so much easier!
