Embedded in both, as those are my default PS/PDF settings for producing
these. Checking the Acrobat Reader -> Properties -> Fonts verifies on my
end that fonts are embedded.

The file that wouldn't read properly lists fonts this way (Original Font,
Type, Encoding, Actual Font, Type):
EngraverFontSet, TrueType (CID), Identity-H, Embedded Subset, TrueType
Maestro, TrueType (CID), Identity-H, Embedded Subset, TrueType
Times-Roman, Type 1, Windows, Embedded, Type 1
EngraverTextT, TrueType (CID), Identity-H, Embedded Subset, TrueType
Times-Italic, Type 1, Windows, Embedded, Type 1
Times-Bold, Type 1, Windows, Embedded, Type 1

The file that read properly lists fonts this way:
EngraverFontSet, Type 1, Custom, Embedded, Type 1
Maestro, Type 1, Custom, Embedded, Type 1
Times-Roman, Type 1, Windows, Embedded, Type 1
EngraverTextT, Type 1, Custom, Embedded, Type 1
Times-Italic, Type 1, Windows, Embedded, Type 1
Times-Bold, Type 1, Windows, Embedded, Type 1

I don't know what (CID) and Identity-H are, and the Acrobat Reader help
file does not explain.

I always check these files on my wife's machine before posting, which has
no Finale fonts installed (only the default Windows fonts). Both files
appear properly on that machine.
