Hi all,

I realized a bit too late that the default file I'd adoped had changed my
default fonts from the Type 1 version to the TrueType version. So the
embedded fonts for the last few months for Maestro and Engraver stuff have
all been TrueType.

I have several hundred score downloads each week, and I've never had a
comment until yesterday. This came to my attention only because an iMac
user got a music font mess on one of my PDF files, and emailed me. Does
this mean (1) it's really not an issue overall, (2) most folks don't both
bother contacting me if the files don't open, or (3) Mac users aren't
playing my music anyway?

What should I do? I don't speak Mac. Can I just leave these PDFs posted on
my site and expect most folks to be able to read & print them? Or should I
go back and re-load all those Finale files, switch fonts (though I can't
seem to find Type 1 fonts with the same names in the Finale collection),
and re-encode the PS/PDFs?

I could swap fonts, but I'm reluctant to go back because of the Engraver
fonts. When I did a search-and-replace (Engraver TrueType to Engraver Type
1), *all* the slurs were bizarrely placed (way high). I'm not anxious to
move thousands of slurs if there really isn't an issue. (I'm using Adobe
Type Manager 4.1 on Win98SE ... have had ATM installed since "the
beginning", back when you could have a coffee, take a nap, and file your
taxes while waiting for the PostScript to compile.)

Thanks,
Dennis
