We need more information. How are you doing your input? With Simple Entry, Speedy entry, or HyperScribe? If you are using Speedy Entry, check to see that the caps lock key is OFF, and enter the left hand part first, then the right hand. If you are using HyperScribe, check your split point setting. It could be too low.

I'm working on a score, and I cannot seem to get Finale to allow me to do this. I have a piano staff, and I would like to have a sustained halfnote chord with walking eighth and quarter notes above it. Finale will not let me do this right now, and I was forced to tie a whole bunch of eighths together on the bottom to make work. How can I fix this, or is it just one terrible fault in Finale's programming.
