Or, as I have often seen in pieces I have played and written (and engraved,
for that matter), you can merely write "(3+3+3)" over the first 9/8 bar.
Usually this is used to denote odd groupings like 2+3+2+2, as in a Frank
Ticheli concert band piece I recently played, but if it's sufficiently
unclear one might notate 3+3+3 to be on the safe side.  Or, if you *have*
used uncommon groupings earlier in the same piece, it would probably be a
good idea to use this type of notation to mention that you're going (or
going back) to "traditional" counting.
