And then I looked at the system requirements...Mac OS 9.x, plus at least 200 MB of empty hard drive space. Let's see...I'm running OS 8.6 on my Mac at home and at school (so I can still use Microsoft Works, which I haven't had any luck loading onto an OS 9.x machine)...plus, I have the original desktop Mac G3 at home, with not nearly enough hard drive space.
I remember running into a problem with hard drive space when I loaded 2k2 onto my ancient Mac. I didn't have enough room for the official specified system requirements, but after inquiring I discovered that you can cut the space requirement in half if you just don't load a lot of the extra stuff -- tutorials, examples, user manual, etc. The basic installation puts all that stuff on your hard drive. A lot of it I never wanted at all; for the rest (eg, the manual) I could just put the CD in the drive and access it from there.
