It appears I can do it in something like Illustrator, but that's about $500 too much to spend for one piece (it's my own, so nobody pays that bill but me!). And it still doesn't deal with spiraling the notes themselves. Ack. As far as Graphire Music Press, I helped write the manual -- and don't recall the ability to do that. You can create lines that meet the staff lines (as in the examples David Fuqua created), but I didn't see any actual staff-distortion abilities. I've given away my copy of Graphire to another Finale list member, and she will look into that possibility.
