In addition to the slowness and multiple file bug, one of my main frustrations with FinMac2004 is the stability -- it crashes on me almost every day. When I wrote MacSupport about this, they told me that FinMac2004 crashes very rarely in-house, and that I should not run any applications simultaneously with Finale. (Yeah, right -- that's just not an option for me.) They also said the slowness of my system (I had been using a 542 MHz G4 upgrade previously) was possibly an issue.
I have since installed a 1 GHz G4 processor upgrade, and the crashes do seem less frequent now -- or at least, they had been until just now, when Finale crashed on me twice in quick succession -- once when I tried to save the file (cmd-S), and once while it was just sitting there in the background -- I think it may have been about to autosave when the crash happened.
What is everyone else's experience with FinMac 2004's stability? It is the only OS X app I own that crashes at all. Is it just me, or what?
