I generally run Finale, Thunderbird email, Proteus, Safari, and MS Word.
I've even run Protools and MOTU Digital Performer while Finale was running, recorded something, quit, and went back to Finale. Everything worked fine.

It's not just you. Finale is the only OS X app that made my system crash. MakeMusic can't make it crash inhouse, but in MY house it crashes every day I use Finale. Strange that every time something gets wrong, they tell us not to use a basic feature of the OS or Finale itself (running multiple apps IS basic and essential, as being able to run Finale 2004 with ALL its new features, like the one they tell us to uncheck).
