I'm sorry, perhaps I'm missing this, but if letter names are no longer used, and only solfege names are used, what's the difference between this and fixed-doh? As I understand it, the whole point of fixed-doh is that pitches retain their solfege names, regardless of the tonic.
I believe Giovanni is saying that Italy uses the fixed Do system, rather than the movable Do as originally intended by Guido.
