This is a different level of nitpicking. One can make a perfectly reasonable argument that whereas the French word is indeed spelled "voil�", there is also an acceptable English word derived from that French word, and the English version is spelled "voila", losing the diacritic in the manner of cafe, risque, role, crepe, facade, fiancee, boutonniere, etc.


Now, you might still prefer the version with the accent mark for some or all of these, and that's fine, but it's another matter to say it's wrong if the mark is missing. "Viola", on the other hand, is just plain wrong no matter what.
