Sorry Darcy. It's just that it is not working as you claim. Do you
have the released version of FinMac2006 installed on a clean machine?

Yes. It works. Hiro, you are just doing it wrong.

Let me try again, from the beginning:

If you want HP to catch expression like "pizz" etc in a new Finale 2006 document using GPO Finale Edition, here are the steps:

1) Launch the Setup Wizard.

2) On Page 2 of the Setup Wizard, choose "Garritan Personal Orchestra Finale Edition" from the pull-down menu.

3) Create your ensemble using this instrument set. Whenever available, choose the "KS" version of the instrument(s) you want (i.e., DON'T choose "Violin Solo" -- choose "Violin Solo KS 1"). Also, do NOT choose anything from the "Select an ensemble" pull-down menu.

4) Enter some music.

5) Assign "pizz" and "arco" to some notes. Do NOT use the expressions that are included in the Finale 2006 default file. Create NEW expressions that are NOT defined for playback.

6) Before playing back the file, verify the following:
        - Human Playback is ON.
        - In "HP Preferences," "Activate GPO Support" is set to "Auto Detect".
        - Make sure "Use unified keyswitches" is ON.

A file created in this manner will play back correctly using both GPO Finale Edition and the Finale softsynth with no additional tweaking.

[The steps are slightly different if you are using GPO Full. Specifically, the Setup Wizard will not load the correct VST/AU instruments for you -- you will have to do that manually. And if you are NOT using the "Notation" instruments introduced in the July 8, 2005 GPO update, you need to UN-check "use unified keyswitches."]
