Having just recently gone through the process of producing parts from several multi-movement pieces entered in individual movement files, I'd really recommend *not* breaking up the work into multiple files. The problems are legion. Yes, Patterson's plugins give you the workaround, but there are some things that occasionally can get lost (though not always, such as cautionary accidentals) for which there are no workarounds. In any event, if you're going to assemble something, I'd assemble the scores into a single score so that I would then not have to repeat the Mass Copy plugin for each movement for each part, but only once for each movement. I don't know what the performance problems are on the Mac with large files, but the only real annoyance I've encountered with my large files is the long pause for the Autosave, compared to the smaller individual files. Whatever happens, it sounds like you're in for an unpleasant time. :( -- David W.
