Sounds like a pretty rudimentary error if that's the actual cause. I have a spare machine that I can leave on for days and days, perect for checking this sort of thing out, I'll install the Finale demo and see what happens over very extended Finale sessions, especially with the "two documents open" problem. > Maybe they simply need to use a different file naming structure, > allowing up to 256 temp files for a single date or a single session or a > single work/date combination, and then they could finally just do a DEL > C:\TEMP\fin??????????.tmp command (or the mac equivalent)(obviously the > path would change to whatever anybody sets the temp directory to be) > everytime the program quits. Surely the date/session is irrelevant as the application should be able to clear all its own temp files when it quits regardless of date? Furthermore, it should probably delete historic files on startup that may have been left as a result of a crash or power cut etc. If this is identified as the problem I would have thought it could be patched up in a coffee break (that's a quarter of a tea break if you're in the UK). -- Simon Troup Digital Music Art http://www.finaleirc.com Real-time Finale discussion _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
