If it's for proofreading, it shouldn't matter what the sounds are, and organ or clarinet or whatever should do just fine for the vocals.

If it's for producing a demo sound file, what about this...

1. When you're ready to produce the demo, make a copy of the file, so you have a GPO.mus and a NONGPO.mus.

2. Delete (or simply mute) the vocal parts in GPO.mus and create an audio file.

3. Modify NONGPO.mus so it's only the vocal parts, with the non- GPO sounds you want.

4.  Create an audio file of NONGPO.mus

5.  Mix the two audio files together.

Or am I missing something?
