Assuming you are talking about MTP/AV USB is grayed out in AMS?
That's the weird thing...the MTP/AV isn't grayed out in AMS. Finale
(FinMac2005) just stops working. I've gone through all the usual
things to get Finale back on but the only thing that is working is to
have the second setup so that Finale has it's own AMS setup. It
doesn't want to work while the "Performer" setup is current.
One thing to check, to be sure, is the MTP/AV USB ROM version. It
should say 2.0.1 when you boot it up.
She has the most recent version..2.01.
As a
work around for now, we have set up two different AMS configurations;
one for DP/Giga Studio and one for Finale.
Sorry, but I am not clear why this would help, unless you constantly
rewire the back of MTP/AV USB.
When she needs to use Finale, she goes over to the Finale only
setup. She hasn't manually set up her Alesis keyboard in that
setup...just the MTP shows in the window. Finale is perfectly happy
to work with this setup with no problems.
With the other setup she uses with DP/Giga..... she has manually set
up her Alesis in AMS because there are a couple of sounds she still
likes to use from her Alesis. It is an older keyboard and there
aren't any drivers per se but she has gotten DP to work correctly
with this manual setup. But with this setup, Finale isn't happy.
So, I'm wondering if there is a way to customize ports in AMS so
Finale is always getting it's midi information through a designated
port.
I'm hoping to have time to get over to her house and see if I can
come up with a way to make it work.....it is a really odd problem...
