I'm glad you can find some joy in this but it has taken away a very
important feature (often overlooked) in extracting parts. Different is not
the best word for it. Overlooked...not adopted...ELIMINATED...yes
"eliminated" is the best word for it. There is no way to do what has been
done before to keep parts consistent.

The problem is that publishers need to have house styles that are
consistent. This is just one more thing a publisher has to worry that the
engraver is setting the wrong distance.

Not to mention the hoops I will now have to jump through to work on Marching
Band parts.

I'm glad they made you happy with this "feature." I for one am not happy
with this decision. There is no reason they could not have incorporated both
ways of approaching this issue.
