Some day you will want to open a file you created 10 years ago. If it is
Finale, you will be able to open it, but they you will have to spend hours
reconstructing it. That is disruptive.

You say these as if they were good things. But in fact, they caused Mac users
to lose access to their older software installers, and to have to replace
expensive gear like Midi interfaces. I had a $400 Midi interface that
eventually became a boat anchor. You bet I'm pissed. All of those decisions
cost us many $$$. It is incomprehensible to me that Mac users are so forgiving.

I configure my computers so I have to remember as few things as possible,
because I am terrible at remembering things. When Apple makes these huge
changes, I have to remember ever file that needs updating and every app that
needs upgrading. It's a frigging major pain in the patootie, and I have NEVER
EVER had to go thru it on Windows.

It's not a matter of staying on the bleeding edge. I will continue to use my
Powermac G4 for at least another 18 months. It's a matter of remembering
everything I need to do so that when I eventually do go to MacIntel, I can
still use my files.

I would have switched to Win completely years ago except that WinFin continues
to have an MDI interface that hates multi-monitor setups.
