It's a DVD ... I didn't check and see the destination ... I thought
it just got saved to the Disk Utility ... my HD as plenty of space
though. I'll check the destination issue.

Is it a CD or a DVD?
When saving the Image, are you saving it to your HD? Is there
enough space?

I followed the directions and path below, but every time the
Utility begins to run and tries to make an image, it stops and the
message pops up, saying:
Unable to create "DVE_V, cdr" - No such file or directory
I wonder if this particular CD is in the wrong format, or what?

Actually, you can, if you are willing to work, do this:
Put the DVD in
Open Disk Utility
Click on the DVD in Disk Utility, and then go to the File Menu-
>Disk Image From Disk (whatever the DVD is named).
then select a NAME of the diskimage, and make sure to Select DVD/
CD Master, not Compressed
Disk Utility will run, and make an image. The image will appear
in Disk Utility under the disks, then, select that and burn. It
will make a DVD for you.
Toast though is a LOT easier........and faster...........
