Look, I tested it out. It copies DVD Videos fine. 4.7 gigabyte videos. I don't
know about using it to copy an 8gigabyte Pirates of The Caribbean movie, but it

Sorry, Eric, but you obviously missed one part of the exchange. Hiro was
specifically talking about DVDs recorded on a Sony standalone DVD
recorder. Those DVD recorders record in a special format, called DVD_VR.
Such DVDs cannot be copied using Disk Copy. That's a fact. The content
of such DVDs is in a format which isn't copyable, as the TOC of the DVD
doesn't give correct values.
Toast can read such DVDs. I am not sure whether MacTheRipper can, but I
don't think it can.
