Hey Chuck,

Accented characters are actually very easy to type on Mac:

opt-e then vowel = acute accent (é)
opt-` then vowel = grave accent (è)
opt-i then vowel = circumflex accent (ê)
opt-u then vowel = umlaut (ö)
opt-n then n = tilde (ñ)
opt-c = cedilla (ç)

Cheers,

- Darcy

There is a little utility called PopChar by Ergonis software ($15, I think) that comes in PC and Mac versions that I find handy for this purpose. It puts a little tab in the menu bar that accesses the font chart for any installed font. Every once in a while, I need to create something I've forgotten in Finale, or I need an umlaut or French accent. This makes those things easy.
