The graphic file format was a cresc. that I made in Photoshop. Pretty
sure the file is not corrupt. I experimented with creating a cresc. and
a dim. in the Expression tool area with real good results. Wouldn't it
be best to use Finale to create anything I can anyway?
Was able to put the cresc and dim into the page with ease. Really
happy but, the expressions disappear as soon as I do anything
else.........like move the page around with a right click (winXP) or
switch to the selection key (arrow?). The page prints great but doesn't
show the expressions. Is there a way to bring them into sight?
Thanks for explaining 'embedding'. It makes sense to me now. I really
like using the expression tool (results) better than the photoshop
graphic which is what I'll end up with. Just real concerned about losing
the pic.
My home computer is a Pent 4 with 2.4 GHz and 512 RAM. The RAM is the
problem perhaps. 512 isn't much nowdays, I assume. The hard drive is 40
GB which is using 34 GB leaving 6 or less GB free space. Could this be a
lot of the problem? I am going to take it to a neighborhood shop for a
cleanup real soon.
If I could just keep the pic on the page (view), I'd be happy.
Thanks so much for your help David.
George
By file format, I didn't mean what the graphic was of. I meant was it a
.jpg or a .tiff or were you maybe trying to use some other format such
as .gif or .bmp or .wmf or, since you were using photoshop, had you
saved it in a native photoshop format.
I'm not sure why your expressions would move around when you moved the
page around. They should stay where you placed them, but remember that
they're either anchored to notes or to measures, so if the measures
move, the expressions will move.
You might do better using the smart shape tool to place them where you
want them.
As for your ram, you're right that 512 isn't a lot these days, but it
should be enough for what you're doing.
