And MM would have fixed it. Inconsistent bugs are essentially impossible to fix until their consistencies have been discovered.
Unfortunately, not even a plugin could be designed to find and repair the broken notes. This problem was introduced when they allowed score and parts to have different enharmonic spellings. Plugins cannot directly access the file data any more, especially with regards to unlinked part and score items.
