I am sorta confused. The studio you are sending the file doesn't have
Finale so what is the goal? MIDI data only contain how long is the
sound duration. It can't contain notation information. Notation is up
to the interpreter.
Hiro's correct -- a staccato 8th is, in one very common interpretation,
a 16th note with a 16th rest. Re-importing that data into Finale will
show up as sixteenth note/rest combination, but that isn't an issue
since the studio just wants the midi file.
