Does your computer go into any power-saving modes when left overnight? For example, powering down the video card, hard drive, half speed for CPU and then powering off peripherals. This could cause problems if Finale wants to initialize some connection to a peripheral that is not waking up when the machine becomes active again in the morning. I gave up a long time ago on all the power saving features of computers. There have just been too many problems, and as long as my computer is plugged into the wall, everything stays on. I know it's not environmentally friendly, but there's just too much risk of losing data, not to mention the inconveniencing of then having to restart the machine and rebuild the working environment you had set up for yourself. -- David W.
